The concept behind this SaaS data video
Editorial data video for finance and SaaS — a decade in numbers, narrated end to end with a real synthesised voice. The Dispatch is scored to the beat, and it is the quality bar we hold the whole studio to: type that lands on the downbeat, figures that count up against a restrained grid, a voice-over that reads like premium motion journalism rather than a slide deck. Every figure on screen is sourced and honest; nothing is invented for effect.
This is the format finance and SaaS brands reach for when a number has to feel inevitable — an annual letter, a state-of-the-industry, a launch-day briefing — and it is the clearest proof of our specialty: charts, maps and figures that move, built from data exactly as it is provided. A self-initiated concept piece, shown as studio spec work.
A narrated data film that names the indicator, not just the institution
A data film is only worth as much as the reader’s ability to disagree with it. Under the chart there is a line of italic source text, and it does not stop at naming the World Bank: it carries the indicator codes themselves along with the territory and the year range, so anyone watching can pull the same two series and redraw this line for themselves. Naming an institution is a gesture at rigour; naming the series is rigour, and it is the single cheapest thing a data film can do to earn trust.
The narration is not a subtitle track laid over a finished picture. The caption bar is a component of the composition, ruled and set in mono against the paper ground, and the word currently being spoken is picked out in the accent red as the line advances. The caption bar carries the same sentences the shipped track does, so what you read on this page and what you hear in the film are the same words rather than two separately-written versions of them.
The world of the film is paper, a black rule and exactly one red — a concept brand, and figures that are not. Setting it as editorial rather than as a deck is what lets it sit next to serious writing instead of inside a slide, which is the whole reason this format gets commissioned in the first place.

Taken from the caption track this player loads — not a summary of it, so anything the film claims can be checked against the frame that carries it.
Over the last decade, the world quietly crossed a line. In twenty-ten, just twenty-eight percent of people were online. By twenty twenty-three, that figure had climbed to sixty-nine percent.
Three point six billion more people came online in a single decade. The Dispatch. We turn your real numbers into films like this one.
