We pick the language and the tools that fit your problem, your budget and whoever looks after the work next — not the other way round. If your site or app already runs on something, we can work in it or move you off it. The one thing we don’t build is firmware. We work from Seven Hills, near Cleveland, and are happy to meet in person: see web design in Cleveland and video production in Cleveland.

Web and app builds

There is no build work in the film library, because a website is not a film and we are not going to dress one up as the other. The proof for this line is the software itself — products the same engineer designed, built and shipped, running in public under their own name. Open them; nothing here is a case study written about work you cannot reach.

Client software, not only our own. 2022: First client — King of Spades. Landed from a single conversation and built end to end: real-time progressive raffles, prize pools, payments, SMS notifications (Twilio), enterprise auth. Delivered in Elixir, Phoenix and LiveView — a different language and a different runtime from every product above it, which is what “whatever the work needs” has to mean if it is going to mean anything. It is the one thing on this page there is no link to, because it runs behind a client's login rather than in public. The engineering record behind all of it runs from firmware on a factory floor to this studio.

Deeper on the films: the brand films, and which one was made for a real client collects every piece carrying that deliverable and marks the concept work as concept work. Deeper on the specialty: how a data-driven film is built, stage by stage walks the whole pipeline from your figures to the delivered cut, and the finance and fintech work is collected on its own page with the client work marked as client work. The studio’s own identity system shows the tokens, type scale and motion rules we hand over with an identity engagement, and the field notes are where the engineering behind all of it gets written down. When you know roughly what you are making, tell us about the project — or get a free watermarked sample on your brand first and judge the craft before you talk to anyone.

Pricing Method

How we price the work

No price bands, no calculator, no sales call to unlock a number. Here is the method — it is the same one whether the piece is a single film or a year of work.

A real number, from a real conversation

We do not publish price bands or run you through a calculator — a number invented before anyone has seen the work is not a price. Tell us what you need, whether a site, a fix, an app or a film, and we come back with a figure for that piece of work.

Fixed-bid for defined scope

Once we agree on what we are building, you get a fixed price for that scope. No surprise change orders. Scope creep gets re-quoted as a separate phase, transparently.

A retainer for ongoing work

Maintenance, updates and post-launch changes, billed against a monthly retainer agreed in writing. You see exactly where the hours go.
