The concept behind this SaaS brand kit

SaaS brand kit, logo and launch film from one token source — RELAY exists to prove they cannot drift. Change a token and the colour moves in the guidelines, the identity and the motion at once. It is the answer to the quiet risk every brand carries — that the sizzle reel and the real brand system are made by different hands and never quite agree.

We build them as one deliverable: a launch film, a logo system and a numbered brand-guidelines document, reproducible to the pixel. RELAY is the clearest expression of why a studio with an engine behind it is different from a studio without one — coherence is structural, not a final QA pass. A concept commission, shown the way a studio shows spec work.

An identity system film whose colour chapter prints its own value

The piece is built as a numbered document. Chapters arrive in the same top-left slot, each opened by a short rule in the accent, and they run in a standards document’s order — the grid, the type, the colour, the mark, the system, its application, the tokens, the key-art, and the printed book. The column field is drawn rather than assumed: it builds from a partial set to its full width in the opening seconds and then holds under every chapter that follows, so each plate lands on a grid you have already watched being made.

The colour chapter is the one to check us on. The accent takes a full-height field on one side of the split, and the value itself is set in mono across that field’s edge — overprinting it rather than sitting safely beside it. Sample the field off the delivered file and it comes back a single unit per channel from the value printed on it. That is the argument of a standards document made falsifiable inside one frame: a book that prints its own token on top of the swatch is inviting you to check it.

Two chapters carry the discipline that actually matters. The system chapter lays out its pictogram grid and then credits it on the frame — a public-domain symbol set, named, dated and sourced — so the pictogram that goes onto the wayfinding sign in the chapter after it is attributed at the point of use rather than in an end card that gets trimmed. The tokens chapter then publishes the values themselves on a near-black plate: corner radius, baseline grid, type scale, motion easing, the surface ramp, and a measured ink-on-paper contrast ratio sitting among them as though legibility were a brand value rather than a compliance afterthought. The concept label runs in the foot from the first frame to the last, and it is printed inside the mocked-up book when the closing chapter shows the document as a bound spread caught mid page-turn. An identity system delivered this way is checkable at every step, which is the whole reason the flagship package piece publishes its guidelines below the film rather than promising them.

Read the narration in full — 5 passages, verbatim

Taken from the caption track this player loads — not a summary of it, so anything the film claims can be checked against the frame that carries it.

A logo is not a brand. A brand is a system. First, the grid it lives on, then the type that carries its voice.

One family, many sizes. and the single colour it's allowed to raise. Only that one.

The mark that signs it all, drawn from the very same grid. Set the rules once, and the system reaches even the things you didn't draw. So anyone can build the hundredth sign exactly like the first.

Every measurement, written down. Nothing left to taste, nothing to argue. This is the system at its loudest, and this film is page one of the book that holds it.

We make the standard, and the film that opens it, from one brief.
